Plane Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft touched down following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," a press officer commented in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident isn't the first time that a US military aircraft transporting a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was required to return to Washington after experiencing a mechanical fault.
