Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.
Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an investigation into claims about questionable actions directed at young women.
The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
A Highly Successful Writing Journey
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, including a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
